Living with lung cancer
I am a 53 year old man living in Sydney Australia. My interests include the Internet, computing, arts and society. I am an atheist (or perhaps a “tooth fairy agnostic“).
I was diagnosed with stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with tumors in the lung, bone and kidney on December 28, 2006.
Earlier in life, I dropped out of high school and spent many years as an unskilled or unemployed person.
In my twenties I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease which went into remission after a five week course of radiotherapy.
I developed an interest in computers when microprocessors began to emerge on the consumer market in the late 70s and early 80s. In 1984 I entered technical college and graduated with a certificate in “data processing” in 1985. In 1986 I began work in the industry and continued without a day out of work until my diagnosis with cancer in 2006.
